Careers at SoudCoh Do not send a résumé. Send us five minutes of you.
A résumé tells us where somebody worked. Five minutes of somebody talking tells us who they are. So that is what we ask for — one video, sent by email, and a reply from us every single time.

Six reasons we stopped
reading résumés.
This is a considered choice, not a quirk. We changed how we hire because the old way kept telling us the least useful things about the most interesting people.
A résumé is a list of employers
It tells us where you have been and what you were called while you were there. It does not tell us how you think, what you care about, or what you are like on an ordinary Tuesday afternoon.
Two pages flatten everybody
The same template, the same verbs, the same tidy margins. By the tenth one they blur together, and the person who would have been brilliant here reads exactly like the person who would not.
Talking is most of the job
Client calls, internal reviews, explaining a number to someone who does not enjoy numbers. If you can hold five minutes on camera, you can hold a meeting. That is the actual skill.
It is less work for you, not more
No tailoring, no cover letter, no rewriting your own history for the tenth employer this month. Sit down somewhere quiet, press record, be yourself, send it.
It gets to the point faster
We learn more in five minutes of you talking than in an hour of reading about you. That is better for us, and it is a much shorter wait for you.
A person watches it
No keyword scan, no tracking system deciding on your behalf before anybody here has seen your face. Somebody sits down and watches the whole thing.
Peaceful. Calculated. Under one roof.
Those three are not slogans we picked for a careers page. They are the standing description of how this place runs, and they are the first things anyone here would tell you about it.
Peaceful, on purpose
Nobody here works in a permanent emergency. Work gets planned, checked, then done properly. Calm is not the opposite of ambitious — it is the thing that lets ambition survive past one quarter.
Calculated
We write things down. Campaigns are built paused and read in full before they go live. Every change gets a second pair of eyes. You will never be asked to push something nobody has checked.
Everything under one roof
Search, paid media, SEO, web design, custom software, tracking, AI and advisory all sit in the same building. When a client needs something outside your craft, you walk over to the person who does it.
Whole solutions, not tickets
The belief this place is built on: everyone needs a whole business solution. You see how your work connects to a client's actual revenue, not only to a number in a dashboard.
Real clients, five countries
Work runs across Australia, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and New Zealand. A family trades business and a public-sector programme can land in the same week.

What we ask you for
1
Video, and nothing else
No résumé, no cover letter, no form to fill in
Under one roof
5
Divisions you could join
Marketing · Technology · Public Sector · Research · Creative
These are commitments and structure, not performance statistics. The reply promise is a rule we hold ourselves to; the five divisions are how the work here is actually organised. We do not publish headcount, salary bands or review scores on this page because we will not put a number on it that we cannot stand behind.
Six things to tell us, in one video.
Record five to ten minutes and email it to contact@soudcoh.com. Cover these six, in whatever order you like. You do not need to prepare anything else.
What you are passionate about
Anything at all. It does not have to be marketing, or work, or impressive. We want to hear you talk about something you would have talked about anyway.
Who you are as a person
Not your job title. How you like to work, what you are like when a week goes badly, and what the people who know you best would say if we asked them.
Your pets
We are serious. It is a small question that gets people talking like themselves instead of like a cover letter, and it is usually the best thirty seconds of the video.
When you like time alone
Everybody needs quiet somewhere. Knowing when and how you get yours tells us how to make this a place you can actually think in, rather than one you survive.
The role you want, and what you do now
Say the job you are after in plain words, and say honestly where you are today. A gap between the two is not a problem. It is just information we would rather have early.
One idea for how SoudCoh could grow
It does not need to be right. We want to see how you think about a business you have only read about. Half an idea, said honestly, is plenty.
And the boring practical part.
Length
Five to ten minutes. Five is plenty and longer is not better — we would rather have five honest minutes than ten rehearsed ones.
Where to send it
contact@soudcoh.com. That is the whole application process. There is no form, no portal and no account to create.
Format
Whatever you already have. A phone camera in a quiet room is completely fine. Nobody is marking the lighting, the framing or the background.
If the file is too big to email
Send a link instead — Drive, Dropbox, an unlisted video, whatever is easiest for you. Just check that we can open it without asking for access.
What not to attach
A résumé. You do not need one, and we would rather you spent that time on the video. Send a portfolio only if you genuinely want us to see it.
Our side of it
Every single submission gets a reply.
One hundred per cent of them. If you take the time to record and send something, you hear back from a person. That is the least we owe anyone who puts five minutes of themselves in an email.
Email your videoFive divisions. Say in the video which one you are aiming at.
Or say that you are not sure yet, which is a perfectly good answer. Across these five the crafts include paid media, SEO, generative engine optimisation, web design, custom web apps, tracking and analytics, AI, research and advisory.
- MarketingPerformance media, brand and growth. Google Ads, Meta, TikTok and LinkedIn, SEO and generative engine optimisation, plus the analysts who read what all of it actually did.
- TechnologyCustom enterprise software and web apps, sovereign-hosted. Engineers, product people, and whoever cares most about the database schema.
- Public SectorCouncil, Commonwealth and cultural work. Long timelines, published standards and real accountability. If you like being held to a specification, this is the division for you.
- ResearchSurvey design, trauma-informed methodology and sovereign data handling. Careful work for people who would rather be right than fast.
- CreativePlace branding, public art and civic publishing. Designers, writers and producers working on things that end up in physical places.
Level 4, West Tower, on St Kilda Road.
One office, in Melbourne, with work running across five countries out of it. You are welcome to come and see it before you decide anything.
The office
West Tower, Level 4/608 St Kilda Rd, Melbourne VIC 3004. That is the only SoudCoh office address — if you find another one listed anywhere, it is out of date.
Hours
Monday to Friday, 8am to 5:30pm. Saturday, 10am to 3pm. Sunday, closed. Ads run around the clock; people do not, and we schedule campaigns accordingly.
Speculative applications
Welcome, and always have been. There may well be no role open the week your video arrives. Send it anyway — we watch it, we reply, and we keep it for when there is one.
If we are not hiring for your craft
We say so plainly rather than leaving you to guess. That is not a soft no. It is the honest state of the roster that month, and it can change quickly.
Then you hear back. Always.
The worst part of applying for a job is the silence afterwards. We have removed that part. Here is exactly what happens once your video lands.
It gets watched
By a person, all the way through. Not skimmed, not scanned by software, not sorted into a pile by a keyword you did or did not happen to use.
You get a reply
Every time. Yes, no, or not right now — and which one of the three it is, in plain English rather than in the language of a rejection template.
If it is a yes
We talk properly. You meet the people you would actually work beside, and you get to ask us the hard questions instead of only answering ours.
If it is a no
We tell you why, briefly and honestly. We keep your video on file if you are happy for us to, and we ask you rather than assuming.
A reply is not the same thing as an offer, and we will not pretend otherwise. What we promise is an answer from a person, in plain English, every time.
Before you press record
Here is what people ask us first.
Applying, answered.
The résumé question, the camera-shy question, the file-size question, and whether you will really hear back.
Still unsure? Record it anyway and say so in the video.
Send your videoCorrect. Do not send one. A résumé tells us where you worked and what the job was called; five minutes of you talking tells us who you are, and that is the part we cannot get any other way. If you would find it easier to have your dates in front of you while you record, keep them on a piece of paper off camera. We do not need the document itself.
Most people are, and we are not scoring presentation. Nobody here expects a polished piece to camera — we expect a person in a quiet room saying true things. If it helps, record it in one take and send that take, rather than doing eleven of them. The eleventh is almost always worse than the first.
Five to ten minutes. Five is genuinely enough to cover all six things we ask about. Ten is the ceiling rather than the target, and going past it does not help you. If you are running long, it usually means you are describing your work history in detail — which is the one part we did not ask for.
Send it to contact@soudcoh.com. If the file is too large to attach, send a link instead — Google Drive, Dropbox, WeTransfer, an unlisted YouTube upload, whatever you already use. The only thing that matters is that we can open it without having to request access, so please check the sharing settings before you send it.
We do not publish a list of open roles on this page, because it would be out of date within a fortnight and we would rather not have people applying to a headline that no longer exists. Send the video whether or not you think there is something open. If there is nothing for your craft at the moment, we will tell you that plainly.
Yes. Every single submission gets a reply — one hundred per cent of them, whether the answer is yes, no or not right now. That is the commitment this page is built on. A reply is not the same as an offer and we will not pretend otherwise, but you will never be left refreshing an inbox wondering whether anybody opened it.
Yes, and the video format suits you better than a résumé does. A career changer's résumé reads as a gap; a career changer talking for five minutes reads as someone with a reason. Tell us honestly what you do now, what you want to do, and what you have already taught yourself. That is far more useful to us than a qualification list.
The office is West Tower, Level 4/608 St Kilda Rd, Melbourne VIC 3004, and it is where the team is. How a particular role splits between the office and home depends on the role, and it is a conversation we would rather have honestly once we know which job we are talking about than a blanket policy published on a page. Ask us in your video if it matters to you.
It is treated as a job application. The people deciding watch it, and it is not published anywhere or shared outside that group. We keep it on file only if you are happy for us to, and we ask rather than assume. Our privacy policy covers what we do with information you send us.
What we do with anything you send us is set out in our privacy policy.
Read the place properly before you record.
The best videos we get are from people who have actually read the site. These five pages are where the real material is.
- About usWho runs this place, how it started, and what the five divisions are for. Worth twenty minutes before you record anything.
- SoudCoh CompoundThe six stages every piece of client work passes through. This is the closest thing we have to a written description of how the job is done here.
- DivisionsMarketing, Technology, Public Sector, Research and Creative, side by side, with the work each one actually ships.
- Case studiesReal accounts and real numbers. If you want to know what a good week looks like here, it looks like these.
- FollowThe YouTube channel and the other accounts. The fastest way to hear how people here actually talk before you decide to join them.
- ContactPhone, email, the office and a map. Use this one if your question is about a client engagement rather than a job.

Five to ten minutes. What you care about, who you are, your pets, when you like time alone, the role you want, and one idea for how we could grow. Send it to contact@soudcoh.com.
Speculative applications welcome. Every single one gets a reply.
